One Heart Beat 4 Jesus was birthed through a season of profound grief and deep faith. In our darkest moments—when our hearts were shattered by the loss of our beautiful Vanesa Marie Velasquez—we wept again and again. Yet even in that overwhelming pain, we wept in faith, trusting that the Lord would give us strength, vision, and guidance to redirect our steps.
It was a time when our hearts were consumed by a fire that, despite its intensity, left no lasting damage. Instead, it was the fire of the Holy Spirit igniting a stirring within us. During this season, I, Esmeralda, experienced recurring dreams in which the Lord revealed a vision: a calling to feed many people and lead with the bloodline of Abraham flowing within me. Prophetic words affirmed that I was to lead many.
After countless sleepless nights, the name One Heart Beat 4 Jesus—with the number 4 — was born. I asked, “Lord, why the number four?” and the Holy Spirit revealed the four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as well as the symbolism of the four corners of the earth: south, west, east, and north. In that moment, I heard the voice of the Lord say, “Go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” I then fasted and prayed for 30 days alongside my husband and children, and time and again, confirmation came that this church was to be built.
Our obedience to God has always come first—even when others may not understand our vision during times of transition. We are here to lead, to equip, to provide opportunity, and to build a true community and family—a place where we can love you no matter what season you are in. We open the doors to our home and our hearts to walk alongside you as you build your relationship with Christ, the Truth, the Life, and the Way—the great I AM, God Almighty, and the eternal source of life.
With honor, love, humility, respect, and all the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), I dedicate this ministry in memory of our beloved daughter, Vanesa Marie Velasquez. Though the enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy, God came so that we might have life—life in abundance. Today, my husband, my children, and I stand strong, knowing that what the Lord has given us cannot be taken away, We invite you to join us and become one heartbeat for Jesus, as we stand steadfast in our commitment to God."
